Training for runners
Many of BaseCamp’s patients are runners who have set a goal for a specific race or distance. In order to achieve their goal, they search online or ask their runner friends for guidance in how they should train. This leads them to set up a running schedule. At BaseCamp, we provide training for runners, as well as assistance in setting up this running schedule. But is this really necessary? We’re diving a little deeper to help you decide.

Are you already falling off of your plan to take advantage of the New Year? You’re not alone. Every January, millions of people commit to running goals. And each of them truly believes that they’ll be able to achieve those goals. In reality, only a small percentage are successful. So, how can you make sure that you’re in the small percentage of those who successfully reach those running goals?
Tapering 101
Whenever there is an upcoming race, the topic of tapering inevitably comes up. Amongst runners, this subject is a common ground for debate. Some runners swear by it, while others don’t believe in using a taper period at all. Today, I’m hoping to answer a lot of questions surrounding a taper, including: what is the point of a taper, whether it works or not, and how to taper effectively.
The MOST COMMON running form mistake
Analyzing hundreds of different runners’ form over the years has taught me many things. Namely, each person is unique to their own running form. Early on in my career, I tried to “fit” everyone into a cookie-cutter approach. While this helped many, it was unsuccessful for many others. Sensing this, I realized the need to honor the individuality of each person’s running form.
